While studying at university for two bachelor's degrees, one of Ri's minors was journalism.  She has also received a 2-year certificate in Fiction Writing from UCLA.  She spent five years as an Associate Editor with a small publisher in NY and has been a freelance editor working with independent authors since 2020.

Ri edits all works of fiction, but she specializes in developmental editing/alpha reading for Romance/Erotica, Fantasy, Science/Speculative Fiction, and LitRPG.

Ri is also a Publishing Consultant and Editor for Flock Publishing, a traditional publisher!  If you would like more information or to be considered as an addition to the Flock, please fill out this form.

Ri has been a voracious reader for as long as she can remember, and supporting authors as an editor and narrator is her greatest passion.  Nothing brings Ri more joy than ensuring authors convey the stories they've poured their hearts and souls into in the best way possible, leaving readers and listeners alike wowed!

When you work with me, you gain an editor and a Book Bestie!  What does that mean?  I will be there for you whenever you need me!

Need help plotting your latest book?  Not sure how to phrase that particular poignant line?  Want to know if your character arcs are compelling? Give me a call, and we'll work it out together!

What Full Developmental Editing Entails:

  • Your book's genre. What type of story are you writing? What elements do readers expect from that type of story? Are those elements present in exciting and innovative ways?

  • Your book's structure. Is there a beginning, middle, and end? Does the story include all the storytelling elements, starting with an inciting incident and building to a climax and resolution?

  • Your book's characters. Do you have too many characters or too few? What are their goals? Do they make exciting choices to achieve those goals? Do those choices show strong characterization and move the plot forward?

  • Your book's theme. What is this book really about? Why did you write it, and what makes it important to you? What do you want readers to take away from it? How can you make that theme more powerful and impactful throughout the story?

  • Your book's point of view. What point of view are you using in your book? Is it a practical choice for your story? Is it consistent throughout the book?

  • Your readers' expectations. Will your book satisfy your readers? Will it stand out on the shelves as a book that brings something new and exciting to its genre?

Includes: Four 30-Minute Zoom Conferences
